Most people have experienced dental problems at some stage in their life. Tooth problems can be extremely painful and very debilitating, not to mention, dangerous if teeth get infected. It is because dentists have recognized the danger of rotten infected teeth that they often today choose to treat dental infections with antibiotics. Sometimes a tooth can be saved with a simple filling, but if the enamel and the crown of the tooth are both badly worn down and broken, then a filling may not be possible. Eventually, if the periodontal disease is very severe, a crowned tooth may not last.

Although people think of dental work as largely cosmetic, it is more complex than that. The trouble is, as many denture wearers realize, is that this is still not as functional or as good as having your own teeth that are rooted into the jaw. If you wear dentures you can struggle to chew certain foods. With dentures, you also have to worry about whether or not they are stuck in firmly so you have to buy and use denture adhesive. People who wear dentures often complain of having a dry mouth and worry that their dentures might fall out in front of people which would be embarrassing.

Turkey is known around the world for having good clinics that perform a variety of medical procedures, including dental work. There are clinics in Turkey which regularly perform dental implant procedures for patients. Dental implants are stronger, but how easy it is to do will very much depend on the state of the patient’s tissues. Implant surgery is the closest to restoring function, besides giving you a nice natural smile back, and it really does help you to function better. There are also a variety of different types of implants that are available that a patient can choose from. You can get titanium implants that are fixed right into the bone just like a natural tooth root would be which is far better than having a denture that can come loose and is hard to eat with.

The Swedish Dental Clinic in Dubai Marina is the only clinic in Dubai since 1985. It opened in Deira, the heart of old Dubai on Al Maktoum Road. It was one of the first and one of the best dental clinics to provide high class western standard dentistry in Dubai and UAE. Since then, we have continued to serve the community and have been treating patients not just from Dubai, but also from the surrounding Emirates and from abroad. We have always strived to be one of the best dental clinics in Dubai and UAE. At the start of 2016, we moved to our new premises in Al Seba Street in the Dubai Marina.

33 years later we are still at the heart of Dubai! Dr. Ines offers state of the art minimally invasive dentistry techniques in all her treatments. We do this by constantly attending courses and conferences; locally and internationally, and investing our time and efforts into having the best dental instruments and equipment.

We have state of the art technologies that help us treat our patients in the best way possible; from digital x-rays, digital charts and patient management systems, to digital impressions, digital monitoring tools, and digital treatment plans. Our dentists believe that the relationship between dentists and patients is special as is requires trust and confidence; i.e you don’t want just anyone messing with your teeth.

Dental therapists can fill cavities, extract primary teeth and put in crowns and spacers. DT’s get a 2½-year degree (compared with four years for dentists) and earn roughly half what a dentist does. University of Minnesota School of Dentistry’s Dental Therapy program is the first in the country to graduate 9 students in 2011. The school’s second graduating class of nine students received their degrees earlier this month. Although Minnesota is currently the only state to license dental therapists, a number of others, including California, Kansas, Maine and New Hampshire, are considering such midlevel providers as one possible way to get more care to people in need. Although rare in the U.S., midlevel dental providers are not new. An April report by the non-profit W.K. Since 2005, a program operated by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has used dental therapists to treat patients living in remote tribal areas of the state. Employment is restricted to dental practices where 50% or more of the patients are on medical assistance or are low income. A dentist must diagnose patients and formulate a treatment plan before delegating a prescribed set of procedures that a Dental Therapist carries out.

A bill (SB 541) that would create a new type of mid-level dental care professional, called "dental therapist," cleared a House committee and was sent to the House floor Wednesday. The bill would authorize licensed dental therapists to perform basic dental procedures like simple tooth extractions and fillings that dentists currently do. And the bill spells out licensing, education, training, and supervision requirements. Amy Zaagman, executive director of the Michigan Council for Maternal and Child Health. Supporters of the bill include clinics and health centers, many of whose clients are on Medicaid, uninsured or under-insured. Their dentists say having dental therapists would allow them to serve more clients.

Zaagman said the bill is specifically tailored so that dental therapists would serve those in need. She said the bill provides that dental therapists would be able to practice only in dental shortage areas or in safety net settings like federally qualified health centers or rural health centers. Zaagman said that oral health can have a big impact on physical health. The Michigan Dental Association opposes the legislation. Deb Peters, president of the MDA. She said the MDA advocates alternative solutions to providing access to the underserved including increasing investment in the state's educational loan repayment program for dental school graduates and raising Medicaid reimbursement rates. Peters also criticized the the bill's supervision requirements as inadequate. The bill passed in the Senate on October 11, 2017. It is up to the House leadership when it will be put up for a full vote by the House.

The gene, called Ctip2, is a "transcription factor" that was already known to have several functions - in immune response, and the development of skin and the nervous system. Scientists can now add tooth development to that list. The findings were just published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Chrissa Kioussi, an assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University. The researchers used a laboratory mouse model in this study in which this gene has been "knocked out" and its protein is missing. Such mice lack basic biological systems and cannot live after birth, but allow scientists to study what is there, and what's missing.

In this case, the mice had rudimentary teeth ready to erupt, but they lacked a proper enamel coating, and never would have been functional. With an understanding of its genetic underpinning, Kioussi said, it may be possible to use tooth stem cells to stimulate the growth of new enamel. Some groups are already having success growing the inner portions of teeth in laboratory animal experiments, but those teeth have no hard coatings - the scientists lacked the genetic material that makes enamel. Many people have problems with eroded tooth enamel, including people who smoke, drink and especially some who use illegal drugs such as methamphetamine. And most cavities start as a hole in tooth enamel that allows decay to begin.

There are thousands of people who manage their dental problems by themselves just because of their inability to afford to proper dental care. Apart from the reason of poverty, there are cases where the lack of interest leads to serious problems. In one such case, a young boy who developed an abscessed tooth avoided taking proper dental care. This negligence led to the spreading of the problem to his brain and by the time anyone realized the actual problem, it was too late for the boy to survive. Several cases like the one above are occurring commonly in day today life because medical treatments for dental problems are not affordable and free dental camps, which are held for the poor lacks visibility among the public.

For people, whose income is very low and for those who face difficulty in paying for their dental expenses, there are many dental care clinics run by the government and other public organizations. These dental clinics provide free dental check ups for the poor. Many medical universities have also started offering free dental camps or at a very low cost. Medical students of dentistry who are in their final years participate in such camps and help the poor by resolving their dental issues. Dental discount plans are also announced for the people who cannot avail regular dental check ups due to their poor economic conditions.

Such discount plans are available with most of the dentists. All the person has to do is to get a membership card which is to be showed every time he or she visits the dentist. Also, a proper dentist who avails dental care at nominal rates will be present in most of the localities. So one can always get advices from his friends and relatives about the dental care programs. ] or ones at a reasonable cost. Government organizations and several NGOs offer numerous plans to provide dental care for poor. They help in curing dental problems at a cost that is bearable by the poor. Such charity organizations involve recognized dentists who take part in checkup events. In such a developed world, it is not really a problem for the poor to get good dental service. All that the poor need to do is to be informative about the availability of such free dental clinics.
