Is Machoke…
The most human-like Pokémon? Telme 18:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I'd say so. Closest to a human as I've ever seen a Pokémon. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) 18:30, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, you could make an argument for Hitmonchan and Mr. Mime The Dark Fiddler - Nos hablamos? 18:55, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Jynx is also quite a good competitor. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:11, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Before we go any further, I have to ask. Does this actually have anything to do with the article? The Dark Fiddler - Nos hablamos? 19:12, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
No, unless Telme thought of adding that as a piece of trivia. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:15, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Um?
Machoke does appear in platinum. Route 210 I found it. --Lustre 06:34, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

The Hulk
Hey, is it me, or does its shiny form sorta look like The Hulk? Would this be worthy of being trivia? - Gold Dialga

It's just you, and no. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:17, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I think it looks like Hulk too, so its not just him. --Mattii 00:17, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Still, no sprite trivia. Gliscorguy54 00:24, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
A better rule of thumb is "no opinionated comparisons". —darklordtrom 07:06, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Belt
Would it be worth mentioning in the trivia that it appears to have a Championship belt around it's waist? - TiTAn 12:45, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Scrap that it's in the physiology section - TiTAn 12:49, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Family Guy in Trivia
In Family Guy Episode "April In Quahog", A superhero that strongly resembles Machoke is seen depicted on a poster in Chris's room. I don't think that's notable or well-written, but I don't want to start an edit war, however. So...any thoughts? Wolf 18:49, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, I actually watched the episode, and I do agree that there is a heavy resemblance of it, right down to the colors. I think it's notable enough to keep. —♥ Jello 19:03, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Name's origin
The trivia section mentions this:
"Machoke's name may be a combination of macho, which is Spanish for overly masculine or chauvinist...". This statement is wrong, in spanish the word "macho" means just "male" and nothing else. 22:05, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Quotes?
Should we add Machoke's quotes such as in Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald or ORAS version?
They were NPC that helped the family move to the new town. Is this too far-fetched? MannedTooth (talk) 04:13, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

I'd say no, since it's nothing really worth noting.--ForceFire 04:20, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Ipsilon!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (1.20.101.24 19:38 20 ago 2019 (CEST)). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
For more handy links, see the welcome portal.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!  PokémonGamer* 05:04, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

The Preview Button
Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:06, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

5 Leech Life Trivia

Voice
Bellsprout's voice is it Amy Birnbaum or Kayzie Rogers as Bellsprout because if you listen it sounds like Jessie's Dustox
Isn't bellsprouts Gold and silver sprite a bit off colour?

I think you're right, I don't know whether it was intentional or not, but the sprites from GS and previous all appear to have green heads... --- Gastly's Mama
Use feet as insulator?
What does that even mean? It's not in any pf Bellsprout's Pokédex entries, and a Google search brings up nothing. I'm really thinking that was a useless add and unless someone can show me otherwise, I'm removing it.--PhantomJunkie 14:42, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I think it means that it can use them as a ground to reduce damage from Electric-type moves, as it did in the anime when Ash battled that one in the Kanto League tournament. Werdnae (talk) 03:09, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
The ring...
Is it just me...or does Bellsprout have a slight ring around it's mouth in the Red and Blue sprite? Buizel1991 23:26, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Any relation to Magritte's The Right of Man?
This is pure speculation, but is it worth mentioning that Bellsprout's design may have been partially based on Rene Magritte's painting The Right of Man? It's rather uncanny to see Bellsprout's head and a leaf in there. Joec (talk) 21:49, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

HOLY CRAP! You're right! It should definitely be added.
Pokemon nomekop (talk) 20:08, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Leech Life Trivia
Should there be a section in the Trivia... umm... section that says that Bellsprout can get Leech Life through breeding but not through TM28? TraxScrip813 (talk) 17:33, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Things that can be seen on the page aren't notable for trivia.--ForceFire 04:26, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
