Route description
This route is in the middle of a huge blizzard, hampering visibility and the ability to run or ride bicycles. Also, in all battles, it will be hailing, damaging any non-Ice-type Pokémon. The Ice Rock is located at the extreme northeast, causing Eevee to evolve into Glaceon if it is leveled up on this route. When the player enters this area in Pokémon Platinum, they encounter Maylene, have a chat, and then she runs off to Snowpoint City.

In the manga
Route 217 in Pokémon Adventures
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Route 217 appeared in Striking Out Snover, where Platinum and Maylene traveled through the route on their way to Snowpoint City to meet Candice. While they rushed ahead, Maylene told Platinum how she was helping Candice to overcome her Ice Pokémon's weakness to Fighting-type moves.

Trivia
Just like in the Eterna Forest, it is impossible to evolve Eevee into either of its time-based evolutions, Espeon and Umbreon, here, due to the presence of the Ice Rock.
If the player re-enters the house near the Ice Rock after the Spell Tag is obtained, the woman that gives it has disappeared. When obtaining the Spell Tag, her speech is: "...A person...? ...A rare sight... ...Thank you for visiting... ...A gift..." The nature of the item, in conjunction with Ace Trainer Olivia's comments of hauntings in the area, implies that the woman was a ghost, specifically a Yuki-onna. This also draws parallels with Eterna Forest, where the only other (human) ghosts in the game can be seen.
Route 217 is similar to Route 43 in Johto as both routes are north-south, both routes have the north end as a lakefront, and both lead to the city where the seventh Badge is obtained. Both of these Gyms specialize in Ice-type Pokémon.

Is there a reason why this article is not named "Trade Please"? Because we always use an English translation of the title for the name of the article. --ケンジのガール 01:41, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

You're going to have to grill Takoto about this issue. She's done this for all of the Suzukisan songs that have articles. A mass page move might anger her, so odds are we'll have to work carefully to ensure a seamless transition. --Shiningpikablu252 15:07, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Can You Name All the Pokémon? (Japanese: ポケモン言えるかな? Pokémon Ierukana?) is a song sung by Suzukisan, that lists the original 150 Pokémon that existed at Generation I, excluding Mew. It is considered by many English-speaking fans to be the Japanese version of the Kanto Pokérap.
This song, as well as a karaoke version, was featured on Suzukisan's video tape Can You Name/Draw All The Pokémon?. A cover version by the group SCANDAL appeared on the Daybreak Meteor Shower CD single.
